Summer is now in the rearview mirror and the fall season is here. It’s a great time of year to spend your weekends, or even a few vacation days exploring the region by taking road trips. There simply isn’t a better way to spend time your valuable time with loved ones or even get a break on your own than a gorgeous scenic drive in your GMC SUV, Truck, or van. The good news for people who live in New England is that it doesn’t take much effort to experience everything that the region is famous for.

Plus, there’s nothing better then experiencing the gorgeous scenery from the comfort and luxury of your GMC vehicle. There certainly are many amazing New England based road trips to take this fall. However, the best in our humble opinion is the Wareham, MA To Bar Harbor, Maine road trip. So pack a picnic, grab the kids and or the dog, and hit the road. Road Trip Time Without Stops: Approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes

Maine is one of the best places to spend time on the East Coast, especially in the fall. People come from all over the country and even all over the world to see the breathtaking foliage in the fall. The colors can only be described as majestic. However, Maine has many other things to offer visitors during the fall season. This includes rugged and isolated landscapes that are hard to reach unless you have a GMC vehicle equipped with either Four Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive.

Maine also offers a vast variety of places to explore including historic towns, lighthouses, farms and ranches, and of course the absolutely gorgeous coastline. There are many incredible restaurants and beautiful places to stay as well. However, if you don’t have the time to make it all the way from Wareham to Bar Harbor and back, it’s easy to do part of the Wareham To Bar Harbor road trip this fall. For example, Wareham, MA to Portland, Maine is only 161 miles. The average drive time is only 2 hours and 37 minutes without stops.

If you’d like to venture a little further but not all the way to Bar Harbor than Portland to Rockland, Maine only adds 79 miles to your road trip. It average out to about 1 hour and 40 minutes without stops. To complete the trip from Rockland to Bar Harbor is only another 85 miles. It will take you just about 2 hours without any stops.
