Standard Vehicle-To-Home Capability for the 2025 GMC Sierra EV
The 2025 GMC Sierra EV gets notable updates for its second model year, including the new non-Edition 1 Denali trim and fresh styling. More trim levels are expected for 2026.
Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) Capability
A key highlight is the standard Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability. This allows the 2025 Sierra EV to power a properly equipped home during outages, effectively replacing a traditional generator. Activating V2H requires a bidirectional charging-capable GM EV (like the Sierra EV), a compatible home setup, and a grid connection, facilitated by the GM Energy PowerShift Charger and GM Energy V2H Enablement Kit. Eligible 2024 Sierra EV models can also get this V2H upgrade.
Additional charging accessories for the 2025 Sierra EV include the GM Energy PowerShift Charger
($1,699), the GM PowerUp 2 Charger ($699), and the NACS DC Adapter ($225). Owners can choose either the PowerShift or PowerUp 2 charger, but not both.
Under the hood, the 2025 GMC Sierra EV is powered by GM battery and drive motors. The Extended Range configuration offers 645 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, while the Max Range variant boasts 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. It’s built on the GM BT1 platform at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
