A Note from Ali Robertson:  A Friendly Spring Reminder: Amidst Noisy Times… Push Pause, Breathe Deeply, Re-Charge, and Re-Engage with Family & Friends.

Hello Friends and Neighbors and Happy Spring!

As the seasonal calendar turns another page and the gentle warmth of spring finally embraces our SouthCoast, Cape & The Islands region , it feels likeAli Robertson we’re all exhaling a collective sigh of relief.

After the long haul of winter and a rainy start to Spring;  the sounds of peepers in the evenings, blue heron fly overs,  ospreys nesting and hunting herring in the local runs, deer sightings while taking longer walks with the dog, are all welcome signs of spring springing upon us.  But even as we enjoy our SoutCoast seasonal awakening, it’s tough to ignore the tumult, chaos and complicated stuff that’s happening in the world around us.

It feels to me  like our nation is navigating a turbulent sea, or more appropriately driving a back country road full of pot holes and frost heaves.  The political landscape remains fraught with upheaval, the stock market looks like an EKG [ electrocardiogram ) monitor, and the divisions within our government seem to cast shadows of uncertainty instead of beacons of optimistic light.  For many families, these external pressures add to the already significant demands of daily life, creating a sense of unease, strain and angst.   It’s in these moments, amidst the noise and uncertainty, that I believe it becomes even more crucial to intentionally seek out moments of peace and connection.   Spring, with its inherent promise of new beginnings and vibrant growth, offers us a powerful reminder of the simple joys that do still exist.  It urges us to push pause on the relentless pace of life, to step outside and truly appreciate the awakening of flora and fauna, the return of birds to the feeders, bikes to the backroads, canoes in the creeks, and the revitalizing warmth of the sun on our faces.

As our children grow older, their paths often diverge, and the opportunities for shared family time can become increasingly precious and fleeting.  This is why I believe Spring is such an opportune time to consciously plan and prioritize those moments where families can come and ideally escape together. The longer days and milder weather beckon us to explore, to create new memories, and to reconnect in meaningful ways.

Think about it: a spontaneous day trip to a local beach, a weekend camping adventure in one of our Massachusetts’ stunning state parks, or even a leisurely afternoon spent exploring a nearby nature trail. These seemingly small moments can become the threads that weave stronger bonds and create lasting memories.

Here at Robertson’s, we understand the importance of these family excursions.  That’s why we’re always highlighting fantastic local destinations and road trip ideas in our “Robertsons Roadtrips” section.  Whether you’re looking for a scenic drive, a family-friendly hike, or a charming New England town to explore, we aim to provide inspiration for your next getaway.

So, as the world around us continues on its often-unpredictable course, let us together embrace the grounding beauty of Spring. Let us all make a conscious effort to carve out time for ourselves, to breathe in the fresh air and appreciate the simple wonders of nature’s renewal. And perhaps most importantly, let us prioritize those precious moments with our families, creating memories that will sustain us long after the season has passed into the next.

As I push pause on this beautiful April day I want to wish you all a Spring filled with moments of peace, connection, and joyful exploration.

Warmly,

Ali Robertson
