More Than We EVer Expected: The EV Revolution & Our New Year Family EV Revelation

Article By Ali Robertson l Principal Owner, Robertson’s GMC
Hello & Happy New Year Everyone,
I’ve recently been reflecting on some truly unexpected changes sweeping through the Robertson family and our team here at Robertson’s GMC. It’s a story of surprise, and honestly, a little bit of a shock [ pun intended ], at how much we’ve all fallen in love with something we thought we would only be selling, not driving— our incredible new line of GMC Electric Vehicles.
Like many of you, I had my preconceptions. I knew the technology was innovative, but nothing prepared me for the actual experience of driving one first hand. I recently got behind the wheel of my new GMC Sierra Denali EV, and let me tell you, I am absolutely blown away. I’m an experienced driver, but the handling of this EV truck is crisp and responsive in a way I didn’t think was possible for a truck this capable. It is so comfortable and smooth, it transforms my daily drive into something I genuinely look forward to. I live not far from our Wareham dealership and even though my commute is only a few miles, I’ve managed to find a couple of long cuts—not shortcuts—to work. It’s the only way to squeeze a little extra quality time in my truck before the workday begins.
It’s not just me. There are other members of my family and our Robertson’s family that all in the same boat—or should I say, the same EV.
Take my son, Andrew, for example. He is driving the new GMC Hummer EV Truck. Andrew has always demanded power and capability, especially when he’s heading out to the water. He won’t stop talking about the sheer power and handling, especially the first time he hitched up his jet ski & trailer for a weekend escape to Maine. The Hummer handled the tow with such effortless grace and power that it completely shattered his expectations for an electric vehicle’s utility.
Then there is Dave Molnar, our Robertson’s Finance Manager, who is now driving the GMC Hummer EV SUV. Dave has a longer daily commute, and he absolutely loves the functionality and the enhanced efficiencies he’s seeing. He often jokes that the biggest fans of the Hummer SUV are his dogs who have laid a claim to the spacious comfortable interior.
The common thread in all our EV hands on wheel experiences is how caught off guard we all were. We went in expecting to appreciate the engineering; we came out feeling a genuine enthusiasm that we weren’t expecting. We thought we knew what a traditional GMC truck or SUV felt like, but these EVs deliver “The Robertson’s Difference” in a way that is modern, exhilarating, and completely new and bottom line fun to drive.
If you’ve been curious about the shift to electric or if you think you’ll miss the feel of a traditional truck, I urge you to take a moment and explore the GMC EV lineup for yourself. Andrew, Dave, and I are proof that you might just be surprised at how enlightened, energized and EV enthusiastic you might become.
Come on down and see us here in Wareham. I invite you to take the wheel of a GMC EV and get a first-hand feel for this truly exceptional experience—just like we have.
Warmly,
Ali
