THE 2022 GMC ELECTRIC HUMMER

This is an interesting first step in utilizing the General Motors Ultium platform for electric motors and batteries that was developed completely in-house. General Motors plans to utilize it as the basis for dozens of new all-electric vehicle models in the coming years including other GMC trucks. General Motors is investing nearly $30 billion into the development and production of electric vehicles starting with the electric Hummer pickup and the upcoming SUV version of the vehicle.

General Motors has also confirmed the first shipments of the brand-new all-electric commercial delivery van to FedEx. General Motors has not confirmed the exact amount of customer orders they have received for the initial run of electric Hummer pickups, however, the company has confirmed that reservations are booked through the next year. The first release of the all-new electric Hummer pickups will be designated as the “Special Edition 1” version and will sell for approximately $113,000. Lower-priced versions will soon enter production.

In addition, General Motors has plans to produce approximately 1,200 “Edition 1” electric Hummers prior to moving to the lower-priced versions of the GMC truck. At the current time, General Motors has 17 electric Hummers that are completed and ready to be sent to customers. All 17 units sold out rather quickly. At this time, the electric Hummer pickup truck is not available at your local GMC dealerships, but you can put your reservation in. The all-new electric Hummer pickup lasts up to 329 miles when fully charged.

This monster of all GMC trucks for sale produces 1,000 horsepower with 11,500-pound feet of torque. There are features that are completely unique to the electric Hummer. They include the “CrabWalk” mode that enables the GMC Truck to actually drive diagonally at low speeds. This is accomplished by pivoting both the front and rear wheels at the same angle. Another incredible feature enables drivers to increase the height of the electric Hummer’s suspension by six inches. In essence, the features provide the GMC truck with the ability to clear water and or large rocks when driven off-road.
The electric Hummer Edition 1 will also include a high-performance setting that provides drivers with the ability to utilize the electric propulsion system’s full power. General Motors state’s that this feature can propel the GMC truck from zero to 60 mph in roughly 3 seconds flat.
